Beginning in 2005, I've worked as an instructor at the Design Akademie Berlin , specializing in courses relating to Post-Production and Editing. In addition to the creation and design of course curriculum and tutorials, I work with students on an individual and group basis through the various steps of Post-Production using software such as Avid Media Composer, Final Cut Pro, Adobe Premiere and Davinci Resolve, all within a SAN shared network environment. Beyond understanding the tools used in professional film editing, I offer comprehensive courses on the theory of film editing and try to establish a context upon which students can develop their own editing style. It's my belief that the rules and conventions of film editing, once understood, can then be selectively broken and deconstructed, thus expanding the editor's repertoire. The goal is not to become a brick-layer, but a sculptor.
