Since 2005, Daniel has taught at the Design Akademie Berlin, now part of SRH Berlin University of Applied Sciences, specializing in courses on film post-production and editing. His teaching covers both the technical craft and the artistic philosophy of editing.
On the practical side, students gain experience with industry-standard tools such as Avid Media Composer, Adobe Premiere Pro, and DaVinci Resolve, often within complex SAN-based shared network environments that mirror professional setups.
On the conceptual side, Daniel emphasizes the theory of film editing, helping students master the rules and conventions while also learning when to question, break, and reshape them. He encourages editors to think less like bricklayers and more like sculptors, crafting meaning, rhythm, and emotion from raw footage.
In recent years, his teaching has expanded to include generative AI for image and video creation, including Stable Diffusion, ComfyUI, Automatic1111, LoRA training, workflow design, control nets, animation pipelines, and integration with large language models.
